The addiction is deep very very deep!

First of all welcome to my blog! I have never done a blog before but I also had never sewn a stitch before December 3rd, 2010. I had tough my self how to knit a scarf and hat on one of those nifty looms theta sell at Joanne's. I was walking outside at the local strip mall and saw a fabric store. I went in to see if they sold yarn and they said they are going to but they were a new store and haven't had a chance to setup that portion of the store yet. So this gal goes onto say but we have classes on other things you might enjoy. I explained I don't know how to sew nor do I own a sewing machine. The nice lady said that is ok we will teach you and you can use my machine. They continued to encourage me to try a free class they were having later that day and the rest is history. I am freaking Suzie Homemaker! I will post pictures of my success and my one failure (although my teacher would say it is not a disaster I disagree). I have gone from bringing in my husbands shorts to tailor to sew buttons back to making:appliqué nativity scene, half moon Santa door hanging, two holiday angels, tote bag, curtains, chenille scarf, twin size nine patch quilt, locker hooking hot pads, locker hooking welcome rug, rope bowel (this was my failure), rope hot pads, locker hooking purse, message board, two pheasant panel pillows, Welcome Sign wall hanging, tooth fairy wall hanging, baby quilt, pheasant themed table runner and a fishing themed pillowcase! My second quilt is
under way, and I hame halfway through two purses that will be finished Monday. All of this complete in two an half months. Now if that is not addiction I have no idea what is! I look forward to sharing my quilting and sewing journey and hope to inspire all of those who don't think they could make something beautiful, because let me tell you, if I can do it anyone can. I am currently living in Vermilion, OH for my job but live in Minnesota and will be heading home in mid-April. I will be so sad to leave my new sewing friends/teachers. They have given me such a wonderful gift and I will remember them everyday for it! If any of you are in the Cleveland area please make the drive to Vermilion and make a stop at Fairyland Fabrics. Their website is www.fairyland fabrics.com. The owner's name is Kathy and her sidekick is Linda, the quilting teacher is Joanne (check out her blog Joanne-everyonedeservesaquilt.bloodspot.com)she is a wonderful and thought full quilt instructor. Kathy and Linda teach the other classes and are as patient as any human can be! Look forward to future posts and being able to journal my progress.
